Thrilling Thursday

Since I have been MIA for the past few months now I figured I would FINALLY take the time to do a blog post! So...with that being said here are a few things, just for the "thrill of it":


1. I am loving these songs ♥

2. 4th of July consisted of this yummy masterpiece that I made :)

3. USC Gamecocks won the college world series...(cough) AGAIN!!! And of course we were able to add to the collection for the hall of fame (in our house of course)

4. I have OFFICIALLY been accepted into the Dental Assisting Program for Spring 2012 & I cannot wait :D

   

 5. I am anxiously awaiting for these two new shows on CMT: Sweet Home Alabama & Texas Women

6. Had an awesome shopping trip to Forever 21 & picked up this new dress (perfect for this fall!)

Laughter & Love

If you haven't seen the movie Bridesmaids, you ladies better get your tickets!  April and I went to see it opening night & I have never laughed so much in my life :D  As she and I called it, its the "girl version" of the Hangover and really is such a great movie (we are actually considering going again to see it; well worth the $10!)

On another note one of my favorite country couples got married this weekend: Miranda Lambert & Blake Shelton! Cannot wait to see all of the wedding bliss especially since everything is bigger in Texas... including her engagement ring 

Saturday and Sunday we made a trip out to Edisto with the family. It was so great to see everyone and of course have a few laughs (more like a ton of laughs!) My Aunt and Uncle came in from NC and rented a beach front house inviting us to stay.  We ate at the amazing Post Office, absolutely love eating there.  

Unfortunately I had a severe hives breakout 3 nights in a row starting on Friday so I was center of attention Saturday night after dinner but quickly took care of that with a few benedryl & baking soda bath (such joy!)  Still not sure of what caused the hives, the doctor couldn't figure out what was caused by it either, but the weekend was beautiful and looking forward to another great weekend ahead!

Pump It Up!

Finally having my exams end on Wednesday, was such a relief. Cannot believe that I have completed my freshman year of college already!  I also finally decided that I wanted to double major and will be starting the Expanded Duty Dental Assisting Program next spring and then Dental Hygiene Program right after that :D

Hopefully I will not have many patients like him ;)
On another note, I started my insulin pump today (hints the title of this post) :]  I have been having severe low blood sugars and as much as we change my ratios around I just felt it was best to start on the pump.  Extremely nerve wracking and actually started getting light headed when we were inserting my infusion set, but everything worked out well.

This is my new meter & pump. I can use my meter to send a "text" like message to my pump without even touching my pump to give me the right amount of insulin.

Blown Away

Saturday called for Storm Watch, literally.  Glenn and I went fishing (airforce winds, slight rain, oh & NO fish ha), he surprised me with a BEAUTIFUL necklace...(that I already have & let me tell you I felt like the biggest butthole telling him that but he was perfectly fine with it and we are going to look for something else), and then come around 8pm he gets a phone call for Storm Watch in Raleigh, North Carolina!  

We were supposed to have the bad storms hit us but, luckily where we were we didn't get anything but a drizzle.  So last night we spent frantically washing all of his clothes, ordering his sister's birthday present (he's possibly going to miss her birthday Tuesday), and getting to bed in order for him to wake up at 4:15.  Needless to say I was not a happy camper hearing that alarm this morning.  They called for 150,000 people without power, lots of tornados, and plenty of damage and injuries.  I could not be happier though that Glenn and the rest of his crew are up there helping.  Here are a few shots of the aftermath:

Spring is in the Air

How Charming...

Of course my first email that rolled in on my blackberry this morning was one from Tiffany's and low & behold what was it about? Charms! And after yesterday discovering Dixie Patches I thought I completely avoided Tiffany's but I have to say, it is definitely a little yellow box vs. little blue box battle.  Both are adorable!

Southern Charm

There's nothing better than a little southern charm & when I stumbled across this website, I completely fell in love!  Dixie Patches is an adorable sight with what women love most...JEWELRY!  I'm thinking of starting a new charm bracelet as well as a new tradition (maybe with the boyfriend;]) and I think these charms are the perfect start.  Each piece of jewelry comes in a small yellow and white seersucker bag & a little yellow box (Just knowing it arrives like that screams my name!)  It's a southern twist to your typical "little blue box" aka Tiffany's.

The Start of Something New

Couldn't be more excited at the start of my blog!  This is the first of many to come & I cannot wait to continue forward! :)

I guess for my first topic I can discuss the lovely Valentine's Day that was yesterday. My sweet boyfriend stopped by with a tiny card in hand and informed me "this is all I got for you", I pulled it out to read "Happy Valentine's Day, I love you!"  Just that little something put a smile on my face, even though I told him not to get me ANYTHING.  Well then he decides to tell me the rest is in the truck...a cute Edible Arrangement!  Best part, was when he told me "I only got a little chocolate because...
 1. you have diabetes 
2. you love chocolate 
& 3. you're not supposed to eat lots of chocolate with diabetes but you do it anyways" 

It's the little things that matter ♥
