Cheers to 2016

I am back in action to the blogging world!
Hopefully I can make more time for this because it's a great place to share information, better yet just let my brain release it's ridiculous ideas and thoughts that not everyone cares about, butttt people who read my blog will care :)

So without further or do,  I will be sharing all things wedding over the next 288 days...
I my friends am getting

MARRIED!!!
to Glenn
{hey cutie!}

I won't go into crazy details about how much I love this guy at this very moment, but if you're just eager to know all about him, head over to our wedding website

We got engaged October 11, 2015 and I have been full force wedding planning. So far we have accomplished the following in this order:
Venue
Date
Florist
Band
Photographer
Picked bridal part members
Engagement photos
Hair & Makeup
Day of coordinator
Picked wedding gown
Booked tastings for food & cake
Save the Date cards have been ordered

Not bad for almost 3 months in.

I wanted to share some great ways to save on items for your wedding.
The first being
SAVE THE DATE CARDS

[I am not advertising for any of the following just sharing where I looked at ordering from-click on the name and it will direct you straight to save the dates]

Minted
Simply to Impress
Wedding Paper Divas

I really wanted to use photos for our save the dates and use more than just one, so I was a little limited as to the styles that were offered for 3+ photos.
I ended up designing on Shutterfly and Wedding Paper Divas and let Glenn pick his favorite design (which ended up being the cheaper one-Go G!)

Three tips with Saving on Save the Dates:
1. Order your number of cards based on household, not people
2. You don't need all the fancy add ons
3. P-R-O-M-O-C-O-D-E
I cannot say it enough, if you are buying online for anything, before you hit place order find a code.

Most of the time these sights will list a code for you, but other times you may find better ones. Simply type into your search engine the website and either add "promo code" or "coupon code" after the name. It could be for free shipping, $20 off, 25% off, etc.

We ended up using

they offered at the top of the page a 25% off entire purchase and also a code for free shipping. Unfortunately I could not combine codes (most of the time you can't), but it's always worth trying multiple codes.

We ordered 115 (few extras) for our 260 headcount
I debated on getting the shimmer paper & the gold envelops...later to realize I could totally spend $40.25 on something else.
The total was $165.50, only able to use the 25% off not the free shipping, but it dropped our total down to $145.56 saving us $41.40!

So in reality, I made a good decision and saved us $81.65 by not adding on those add ons. YES OH YES, I totally thought they were pretty, but believe me that $81.65 will now be going towards buying a garter & veil on etsy instead :)

Hope this is helpful to some other Brides to Be!

Any thoughts on what the next post should be? I'm thinking of sharing tips from picking out my dress!

Cheers to 2016 Y'all

xoxo
