Cheers to 2016

I am back in action to the blogging world!
Hopefully I can make more time for this because it's a great place to share information, better yet just let my brain release it's ridiculous ideas and thoughts that not everyone cares about, butttt people who read my blog will care :)

So without further or do,  I will be sharing all things wedding over the next 288 days...
I my friends am getting

MARRIED!!!
to Glenn
{hey cutie!}

I won't go into crazy details about how much I love this guy at this very moment, but if you're just eager to know all about him, head over to our wedding website

We got engaged October 11, 2015 and I have been full force wedding planning. So far we have accomplished the following in this order:
Venue
Date
Florist
Band
Photographer
Picked bridal part members
Engagement photos
Hair & Makeup
Day of coordinator
Picked wedding gown
Booked tastings for food & cake
Save the Date cards have been ordered

Not bad for almost 3 months in.

I wanted to share some great ways to save on items for your wedding.
The first being
SAVE THE DATE CARDS

[I am not advertising for any of the following just sharing where I looked at ordering from-click on the name and it will direct you straight to save the dates]

Minted
Simply to Impress
Wedding Paper Divas

I really wanted to use photos for our save the dates and use more than just one, so I was a little limited as to the styles that were offered for 3+ photos.
I ended up designing on Shutterfly and Wedding Paper Divas and let Glenn pick his favorite design (which ended up being the cheaper one-Go G!)

Three tips with Saving on Save the Dates:
1. Order your number of cards based on household, not people
2. You don't need all the fancy add ons
3. P-R-O-M-O-C-O-D-E
I cannot say it enough, if you are buying online for anything, before you hit place order find a code.

Most of the time these sights will list a code for you, but other times you may find better ones. Simply type into your search engine the website and either add "promo code" or "coupon code" after the name. It could be for free shipping, $20 off, 25% off, etc.

We ended up using

they offered at the top of the page a 25% off entire purchase and also a code for free shipping. Unfortunately I could not combine codes (most of the time you can't), but it's always worth trying multiple codes.

We ordered 115 (few extras) for our 260 headcount
I debated on getting the shimmer paper & the gold envelops...later to realize I could totally spend $40.25 on something else.
The total was $165.50, only able to use the 25% off not the free shipping, but it dropped our total down to $145.56 saving us $41.40!

So in reality, I made a good decision and saved us $81.65 by not adding on those add ons. YES OH YES, I totally thought they were pretty, but believe me that $81.65 will now be going towards buying a garter & veil on etsy instead :)

Hope this is helpful to some other Brides to Be!

Any thoughts on what the next post should be? I'm thinking of sharing tips from picking out my dress!

Cheers to 2016 Y'all

xoxo

M.I.A.O= Missing In Action Obviously

I knowwwww... I have not been sticking with my original plan of trying to blog As Much As Possible & obviously I have not!  School really has been SO overwhelming, but I need to at least make some "me" time and blog once a week, don't ya think?!

Anyways, lets move on here to a few random thoughts :)

1. I am glad to say it is officially my birthday month (almost twenty one!) & one of my favorite months of the year!

2. I will be making a post soon of birthday gifts that I am looking at. But serious moment for a second: does anyone ever feel guilty when someone asks, "What do you want for your birthday?" I sure do & I don't know why. I have always hated asking for things...maybe it's because I have expensive taste sometimes (oops ;])

3. I finished my custom Bib Statement Necklace! Cannot wait to make another one :)
I have to thank Sarah over at werejustlikeyouonlyprettier.blogspot.com for the tutorial

4. If you have not seen this recipe yet, then you must see it now. These porkchops are amazinggggg!

5. And finally...G and I somehow came up with halloween costumes this year &&& looks like Joe Dirt and Brandy are the winners (go ahead & laugh)

School's Back From Summer & Monogram Monday

Okay, so I changed the words a little...only because I'm excited!
I started my final year of college today (unless of course I decide to go back in the future).  I have gone to college year round for the past two years, so what really is my junior year is more like my senior year.  I have completed certificates for Dental Office Management, Allied Health Prep, and Pre Nursing.  By the end of next summer, I will have an Associate degree in Science, Associate degree in General Technology, and a Diploma in Dental Assisting.

Needless to say, I think I will have earned enough, wouldn't you say so??? [haha]  I realize I do not have a Bachelor's Degree, but that just isn't for me at this point in time.  Who knows what the future holds for me, but right now I am focused on my future career in the dental field.

My first two classes for dental assisting were Clinical Procedures and Dental Emergencies, and man was it a longgggggg day :/

Here is a little sneak peak at my first semester...and yes that huge book to the left is almost 2000 pages :)
Classes are 5 days a week, including lab, and I am taking 16 hours, but I sure am excited!

Also, I said I would post the tutorial for the monograms that I made as inserts for my binders. I found the link from Pinterest here or at For Chic Sake.

It seriously is so easy! Obviously I chose lime and coral

Sorry for such a short post, but I just didn't want to break a promise to my sweet followers!
Let me know how all the monograms turn out or what you decided to do with yours :)

Spice Up Your Life

I couldn't help but to write up a quirky little post this morning after the reunion of the Spice Girls at the Olympic Closing Ceremony!

First I must say, have any of them aged?! They all look fantastic! I was in love with the Spice Girls (probably 5 CDs and their movie), but of course my favorite was Baby Spice (Emma) back in the day.
Look at those sparkly heels?!
To add to the "Spice", did y'all hear that Jennifer Aniston is engaged??? She seriously is one of my favorite actresses, and the whole Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie situation kind of makes me cringe...{I won't get into that nonsense}, but hooray for her and Justin Theroux!!!

I also found a "spicy" recipe on Pinterest I want to try {It's the closest thing to spicy that I will eat haha}
Easy Creamy White Chicken Enchiladas }
{{{ 6-8 corn tortillas (enchilada size) 1 pre-cooked plain rotisserie chicken, shredded 1 cup sweet corn 4 cups shredded Mexican blend cheese, divided in half Sauce: 3 tablespoons butter 3 tablespoons all purpose flour 1-1/4 cups chicken broth 1 10oz can cream of chicken soup 1 cup sour cream 1 4oz can chopped green chiles 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper 1/4 teaspoon sea salt Oven @ 350, 25-30 min}}}

And last here is a few spicy little items I am looking forward to this Fall

What I'm Loving Wednesday...and I am Back!!!

It has been well over a year since I have last posted on my blog...needless to say I'm way overdue!  School this past year and work has kept me fairly busy, so sticking with the whole blog thing just wasn't working out.  I have decided to give the blog another chance:
A. Didn't want to just give up on it :)
B. For the first time since I was 16, I will not be working for an entire year!
C. I need a place to put my amazing thoughts of course ;]

So let's get started!

I woke up this morning to a text from my dad at 5:30...(grrrr) so I obviously did not go back to sleep, that is why this post is SO early.  To catch everyone up, I just finished summer semester and I have 2 weeks off before I am back at it again.  I really am going to try to enjoy these next few days, as well as my last days at work with some of the sweetest ladies!

{What I'm Loving Wednesday}
Basically everything I pinned on Pinterest lately

This is a photo from the recent Southern Living Idea House : The house is really beautiful with how they transformed it, and it is open now in Georgia through the Fall.  This is the master suite and I love how it's got this rustic chic vibe about it.

I am ready for fall and winter to get here! This sweater from J.Crew (on the Net-A-Porter website for 60% off---which is no longer available I just read after I posted this deal [dang it]) would be perfect for a Holiday party

Found an awesome trick for cleaning fruit! I did it with strawberries and they have lasted for dayssss..
use water & 1 cup of vinegar & let your fruit soak for about 10 minutes to get rid of all the dirt and wax

And of course I couldn't do this What I'm Loving Wednesday without adding Wedding Ideas :)

4. I have OFFICIALLY been accepted into the Dental Assisting Program for Spring 2012 & I cannot wait :D

 5. I am anxiously awaiting for these two new shows on CMT: Sweet Home Alabama & Texas Women

6. Had an awesome shopping trip to Forever 21 & picked up this new dress (perfect for this fall!)
